Sarah and I have known each other since high school, and it was such a JOY celebrating her and Ben’s engagement at Virginia Beach during the sunrise! Ben and Sarah met during the summer of 2016, working with kids at their church. They officially had their first date at the end of the summer, over grilled cheese and ice cream. Although they would be apart for much of the following year while Ben was in school, they continued dating and getting to know each other. Every time they had the chance to reunite, it was reaffirmed how much they loved each other’s company. After graduating from school, they adored dating without the distance separating them.
In their own words:
“On October 3rd, 2017, Ben asked Sarah to take a little trip to the Bay before our Tuesday night community group. With Sarah thinking it was just a normal evening, we laid out our blanket on the sand and watched the sunset. After a little while, Ben began a beautiful speech declaring his love, and Sarah heard about a quarter of it…because she was mentally debating if he could really have a ring already! Ben made it clear by getting on one knee, pulling out the most beautiful diamond ring, and asking, “Will you marry me?”
All in one motion, Sarah said yes, grabbed the ring, and jumped in for a hug. Ben slipped it on Sarah’s finger, we took some selfies, and we ate Rita’s.
It was the perfect night.”
