Keeping Up With Klaire | Our Wedding Invitations!

KlaireDixius_FineArtFilmWeddingPhotographerCharlottesvilleVirginia_CharlottesvilleWedding_Tegan&Kailyn-9

This past weekend Shadi and I accomplished the one thing in wedding planning I have been most dreading – getting addresses together and getting our invitations in the mail. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love looking at lovely designs of invitations and thing they’re super cool and worthy of the time investment, but making sure 160 addresses are correct isn’t part of my particular skill set.

After weeks of attempting a custom design for our invitation with hand lettering elements, I finally got to a point where it was so frustrating to stare at illustrator and see all of the ways I wanted to change it that I had to get up from the table, lay on the couch, and stare at the ceiling in frustration.

Shadi gently came over and asked, “do you want to use a design template and pay for a design?”

Music to my stressed out ears.

After the huge mental weight was lifted, we sifted through several designs and finally settled on a template called “storybook romance” on minted.com.

The invitations arrived out my house, we added a print from our incredible engagement session with Nikki Sentarre, and finally, it was done.

Handing over 160 envelopes to the sweet woman at the post office never felt so good.

This experience encouraged us to trust some wedding tasks to be delegated to others, which I know will be key to allowing us to rest and take everything in on our wedding day.

Only 102 days, and we’ll be husband and wife!
