Luke and Ashley’s North Carolina was full of so much joy and laughter. Luke and Ashley had met at the camp where they got married, nestled between incredible rolling mountains. In their own words, they describe their story –
“We like to joke that we have a little bit of a Romeo and Juliet story. Ashley worked for the summer camp, Laurel Ridge, every summer while in college. Luke had started his internship with the student ministry at Calvary Baptist in Winston Salem, which ended their summer by going up to that camp. As Luke moved down to North Carolina to continue his internship beyond the summer, a relationship started to form from those few days spent where our two ministries came together. Ashley was still in Winston Salem for work and school so that put us in the same area to see how God, from the very beginning, was bringing two people with separate ministries and desires to serve Him, and starting to weave them together. We were able to challenge one another as well as comfort and support each other. One huge lesson that Ashley and Luke have had to learn over and over has been what it means to have a relationship completely surrendered to God and His will for our lives. That has been one of the most beautiful things to see as God has consistently work through our relationship to bring us both to the point of seeing our lives support one another towards serving God and living out His will for our life.”
