This past week, like several others times this past year, I texted my boyfriend Shadi saying, “GUESS WHAT, I GOT A CAMERA. NOT JUST ANY CAMERA, BUT A FILM CAMERA!” And honestly, after this has happened so often, he’s come to expect spontaneous texts about new equipment. This time, I expected a response something along the lines of “come on Klaire, isn’t it time to save?” But instead, he responded, “that’s so exciting!! Let’s go take pictures together!”

Shadi may be pretty great, and I appreciate him more and more as time passes, but this interaction really spoke to how God feels about this passion, this excitement of mine. I expect Him to feel disappointed or apathetic that I love how a camera can bring me into the lives of other people, but when Shadi said that, I felt God saying, “I am so excited you love this. Let me take pictures with you. Let me be a part of it.” And that’s why this little camera meant so much to me, in the whispering of god’s truth.

This past week I got to use it for the first time, and I’m so excited to get the scans back from a new anniversary session!!
